Hemorrhoid Prolapse
Hemorrhoid Prolapse Advice
When it comes to hemorrhoid prolapse it can range from mild to severe. While most times internal
hemorrhoids are not an issue, they can get really out of hand. The different types of prolapse will be the bearer
of how your symptoms treat you and if you can cope with them.
Your treatment will also vary depending on the type you have as well. The basic principle behind
the prolapsed hemorrhoids is that it extends out of the rectum and anus. When this happens there are a host of new
problems.
The Mild Problem
When you have a mild problem with hemorrhoid prolapse you
are usually describing a grade two type of pile problem. Normally the tissue that makes up your hemorrhoids stays
confined inside the rectum. When it has progressed to a grade two prolapse it now has left the rectum, but only
when you push or strain. The hemorrhoids will also go right back into the anus after you are done. This is usually
when most people first notice that they have internal hemorrhoids.
All you will need to do is stop straining. Be sure to drink plenty of water and eat a high fiber
diet. This will help you fix any regularity or constipation issues that may be causing the problem. If you need
some instant relief you can use a stool softener. Make sure to also get plenty of exercise to keep blood from
pooling in the area.
When Things Are Looking Harder
A hemorrhoid prolapse is not always just annoying. It can be painful as
well. A type three prolapse is when the hemorrhoids are not protruding from the anus and do not go back in. This is
a problem. You will still be able to get them back in, but will have to do so manually.
This is when you may experience the regular annoying symptoms that are frequently described when
you have hemorrhoids. There is definitely swelling involved and this leads to the typical burning and itching as
well. You may now have the need for medications to help you cope and to cure the problem.
You will find relief in creams, gels, and pads to use on the outside. This will help cool the
burn and kill the itch. Suppositories offer you the internal solution to pain and swelling. Be sure to not sit
directly on the hemorrhoids as that can make them worse. Try sitting to one side or using an air doughnut.
The Worst Case
Strangulated or thrombosis hemorrhoids prolapse is the type four kind. It can have the worst
side effects. You will not have the tissue on the outside of the rectum; you will no longer be able to get it back
in. This poses a large problem on many levels. Bleeding is much more common, and the symptoms can be
unbearable.
If over the counter medications do work, they will need to be used much longer than directed, so
speak to your doctor to be sure this is the best option. Some doctors will recommend surgical treatment if they are
really bad and keep coming back.
